Freta NGO.

This is the artistic name of the young artist Fredrik Robens.

The German-born artist from his first days was immersed in African culture as well.

Freta NGO studied African-Studies in Leipzig (Germany) and Madeira island University.

His Angolan mother influenced his perception of the modern world through her African eyes. This is a rare case when in one artist´s strict Nordic notes are combined with warm painted African melodies. He has exploded onto the art scene, focuses via Expressionism on portraiture (concentrating more on African faces)  and sculpture, creating his contemporary African Paintings and unique modern African style in art.

He was inspired by artists that have the same passion of depicting the cruelty of life and the suffering of people, such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Francis Bacon, Van Gogh, Picasso.
